Christ Has Risen...again

Hiya;

After a no-end-in-sight week at work, I was thankful for an enforced Friday night at home. The Lovely Samantha was out having cocktails with the First Wives Club so I ordered pizzas and sat with the little man in front of the telly. Shane came around and made the most of the food and footy on offer.

Pretty chilled Saturday. Depending on who you ask, I did my yearly quota of house cleaning.

Sunday was nits day. Sam discovered them in Bodhi’s golden locks in the morning. She had a baby shower to attend which meant that I was left, fine tooth comb in hand, to smoke ‘em out. I had to go through Sam’s hair the next day too. There’s two hours of my life that I’ll never get back. Oh well, I vaguely remember some philosopher say “You never truly know someone until you’ve inspected every follicle on their scalp”. Vidal Sasson perhaps?

Sunday also happened to be Greek Easter. Clean hair, grilled lamb, pastitsio and a good old family catch up.

I saw out the weekend at the cinema…alone…watching “Battleship”. I couldn’t convince anyone to come along and despite initial misgivings, I’d read a review which gave it the thumbs up so decided to take the plunge. Another two hours of my life that I’ll never get back.

Christos Anesti to all,

Minas.

Another year gone by

The Lovely Samantha joined me in the city for a drink after work on Friday and we continued the grown up theme into the evening (made possible by mum babysitting) with a slap up meal and a bottle of plonk at Felix.

I started Saturday with a quick swim, some ankle exercise, then a spot of shopping and back home to some domestic shuffling. The afternoon was spent across the road at Bodhi's mate Hari's superhero birthday party. Three Batman's, two princesses, a buzz lightyear and countless Spidey's meant that Bodhi's "The Phantom" was a unique winner. The little crime fighter did have one concern about his costume, but after explaining that all superheros wear their undies on the outside, he seemed more content.

Dinner at home, then off to bed.

Sunday came, so to the traveling circus that passes itself off as my Italian relos. Fireworks, yapping dogs, Canoli and nearly-dead-Nonni were all in abundance. Another year, another family lunch out of the way.

see ya,
Minas.
