Another one bites the dust

Hey Gang;

My contract officially ended on Tuesday and while i didn't take up the extension on offer i did agree to see out the week to complete my handover. Unlike the previous times I've quit work for something new, this time "new" will not be spelt I.T.

Friday night was spent with friends sharing a slap up meal and a few bottles of plonk to toast new beginnings.

I've been trying to put a list together of the kind of careers i'd like to pursue but the list was just too long. So i tried a different tack - making a list of jobs that (without sounding arrogant) are probably beneath someone of my experience. Surprisingly there were only a few: Washing the dishes and cleaning the bathroom. Judging by the expression on her face, respecting my professional integrity doesn't rate to highly on The Lovely Samantha's priority list. I vacuumed on Saturday.

Saturday was also Bodhi's friend's birthday. Hari is Bodhi's age and lives just across the road so we hung about for a fair while. I struck up a conversation with Hari's retired granddad. Turns out his hobby is furniture making so i boastingly offered to show him the desk I'd made for Sam. He indulged me and at least gave me the impression that he was impressed...that was before he pointed out various pieces dotted throughout Hari's house which I'd previously mistaken for 19th century French antiques but were in fact his. "Awe" was a word that sprang to mind, "Humbled" was another.

Sunday was spent with Bodhi riding the bike between a Christening and party in the park. The Lovely Samantha was yet again fleecing unsuspecting customers at her market stall.

So there you have it. A man of leisure...again. Two weeks and then i'm off to India.

see ya,
Minas.
