Another long weekend here. Technically it started on friday but the reality is that it kicked off right when the previous one ended Cha ching!
Friday night was again a footy double header. Enough said.
On Saturday, having just taken receipt of a brand spanking new le chasseur, i unleashed the francophile in me. Considering it was also Greek Easter and i was supposed to be fasting (no dairy, alcohol or meat), my gastronomic feast of Soupe a l'Oignon au Fromage et Boeuf A La Bourguignonne was kept a secret. Come midnight though, i was back to my pious best for the mass and symbolic "breaking of the fast" family meal that followed. "Not feeling too well" was the reason i gave for having just one serving of traditional avgolemo (chicken soup) but it was met with skeptical stares from my devout Greek aunties.
Sunday was more breaking of the fast, this time at a meat lovers paradise in Bondi Junction. My steak alone weighed a ton, never mind those of my uncles (who had actually fasted for the week and were ravenous for red meat).
So, today's the day kids - i'm off to India. Please make an effort to pop in on The Lovely Samantha if you're in town - she'd love the company.see ya,
Minas.
