When work turns to fun

Hey Gang;

Thursday and Friday saw me in at the photo desk of the Fin Review experiencing newspaper photography first hand. One of the younger "maverick" shooters took me under his wing and showed me the ropes. I showed him some of my portfolio which i guess filled him with enough confidence to let me "take the shot" during Friday's profile shoot of some company's Chief Financial Officer. To say i was grinning would be an understatement. To my jaw dropping OMFG jubilation, the September issue of the CFO magazine will be running my shot full page to an accompanying article. Not bad for a work experience boy eh?

The excitement was just too much and I was once again asleep on the couch before the half time break in the Friday night footy.

Saturday started with absolutely nothing on the horizon but a phone call from friends changed all that. By early afternoon i was freezing my little man boobs scuba diving off Manly while the Mums and bubs enjoyed the warm winter weather from the beach.

Sunday was the second class of my photojournalism course. Our major assignment is to produce a photo essay (A story told in pictures). Mine is based on a local character who definitely doesn't conform to the "meat 'n two veg" brand of society. It is so far out of my comfort zone it ain't funny. Wish me luck. I'll show you all when it's done.

see ya,
Minas.
