One Month On

Forgive me dear blogee's, it's been a month since my last weekend report.

I've no excuse really. Several non-eventful weekends and a less than enjoyable month at work are all the lame reason I can muster.

This weekend i did what i should have done long ago - blitzed. Instead of the backyard, it was the front battlefield upon which i spilt the lions share of elbow grease. We've decided to finally say goodbye to the pebble-crete porch and crazy paving path and restore the front to it's former glory with tesselated tiling and turned posts. It's not a cheap exercise, but hopefully worthwhile.

It was also a chance to win back the affection of The Lovely Samantha. Several years hiatus between the last time i did any hard labour (the backyard) have taken their toll on our relationship. I've become a fat, lazy slob and she doesn't like it. Secretly i think she'd just missed the sight of me in low slung builder's shorts, so i took every opportunity atop the jackhammer to let the crack shine through. A kiss and a cup of tea at the end of the day, the spoils of victory.

Sunday was more of the same. A fantastic home cooked Indian dinner at the neighbours rounded out a tiring, yet revitalising weekend.

Bring on New Zealand next week!!!!

kia ora,
Minas.
