While
we were away in NZ, we had the tradies in to do a few odds and ends about the
place and it’s amazing how expensive odds and ends are these days! You might
remember we decided to restore a touch of former glory to our house by laying tessellated
tiles on the path/porch and they look bloody brilliant. With that though, The
Lovely Samantha has insisted on a new colour scheme and front garden which
means you’ll be hearing about painting and prepping etc. for the foreseeable future.
Cue
this weekend: Sanding kitchen benches, filling skip bins with building waste,
human earth moving etc. De ja vu - The old backyard blitz from
several years ago is coming back to haunt me. I even attempted to get rid of
excess sand from the pebbles down the side passage. The nice white pebbles are starting
to drown under the debris collected over the last 5 yrs. Talk about back
breaking. I hate shoveling in confined spaces.
To be honest, not sure why
I bother with all this DIY stuff but it does put a sparkle in the old girl’s
eye and makes me feel partly man again after the hiatus of the past few years.
See
ya,
Minas.
